I am a Scottish bagpiper residing in the Savannah area. I have experience in both solo and band settings throughout North Dakota, Minnesota, and Georgia. I began playing music at age eleven as a percussionist in my school band. I studied percussion throughout my school career and made District Honor Band as principal timpanist for one year, and All State Semifinalist for one year. I toured with my first drum and bugle corps at seventeen, and toured with various drum and bugle corps both Canadian and American for four seasons as principal timpanist. I began learning trumpet in my second bugle corps in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada. I went on from my bugle corps tour to perform as a bugler for the West Fargo VFW Honor Guard for two years in 2007 and 2008 as their bugler. I also performed with the Oskloosa, Iowa honor guard and have filled in with various other honor guards throughout my career. I began learning the bagpipes at eighteen when my host family took me to an Irish festival in Sudbury. I loved the sound of the pipes, and I was so inspired to learn. I am totally visually impaired, so I found that I could memorize the music very well, and my ear is great for tuning. When I am not playing instruments, I am serving my community as a volunteer in the Savannah Central Labor Council. I am available for weddings, parties, to honor your loved one, or for any other engagement you might have in mind. I perform such tunes as Scotland the Brave, Amazing Grace, Mary's Wedding, Flower of Scotland, or any other tunes you request. No request is too difficult. I will travel outside of the Savannah area if needed. I am a Coast Guard Auxiliarist as well, so you can be assured that I am safe and trust worthy I am a traditional bugler as well, so can perform for military events where Taps and other bugle pieces are needed.. I am also a member of the American Federation of Musicians Local 447-704, so I can put you in contact with other types of musicians for your event, for example if you would like me to perform for part of the event, and then would like a string quartet or brass ensemble for another segment of the event like a wedding reception. I can also put you in touch with other musicians for your event even if you do not need my services.
